Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Where is the meeting point in Finale?
Drop in at the CUBE Store: Via Domenico Brunenghi 179, 17024 Finale Ligure, SV.
Google maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XpJNBUsNuX7g3tsh7
How do I get to Finale?
Fly, drive, or train—dealer’s choice. Best airports to fly into are Nice (France) or Genoa (Italy). Having a car in Finale is handy, but honestly, once you’re here with your bike, you’re set. Hit us up with your travel plans and we’ll help you lock down the logistics.
Can we fly in with our bikes?
Hell yeah! Genoa (GOA) is the closest hub—about 45 minutes by car or an hour on the train. Nice (NCE) is slightly further out, but usually has better flight connections. Need a lift? We run airport pick-ups—shoot us an email and we’ll arrange a shuttle for you and your crew.
What bike should I bring to Finale?
Finale is the undisputed Enduro Mecca, so a 150-170mm Enduro Rig is the absolute sweet spot. We’re guides, which means we love hunting down off-the-grid singletracks that require some pedaling or bike-carrying to reach the goods. Since most of our tours (except full-shuttle Classic Days) involve earning a few descents, a full DH bike isn’t ideal. Bringing one anyway? Let us know in advance so we can adapt the shuttle plan.
What if my bike snaps or breaks in Finale?
We’re plugged into the best mechanics in the valley. We work side-by-side with the local wizards at CUBE Shop and Ultimate Bike Shop. Need a fresh rental while yours is in the stand? We’ve got you covered.
What happens if I mechanical on the trail?
Our guides carry solid trailside mechanical skills. If your rig is completely toasted mid-ride, we’ll call in our shuttle drivers to fetch a rental bike so you don’t lose a single lap of dirt time.
What does a typical riding day look like?
• 09:00 AM: Roll out (give or take, depending on last night’s beers) and load the shuttle for the mountains.
• Mid-Morning: Mandatory stop for a proper Italian espresso hit.
• Lunchtime: Real local fuel (€10 – €15 max).
• 05:00 – 06:00 PM: Drop back down to Finale for a cold beer or aperitivo on the beach.
What lid and armor should I wear?
We strongly recommend a full-face helmet. Yeah, pedaling up in it gets hot, but you’ll thank us when you’re pushing hard on technical rock gardens. A back protector or armored vest is highly recommended—protect the spine, ride another day.
How’s the weather in Finale?
Finale is dialed year-round, but mountain temperatures can swing quickly.
• Prime Season: February to June & September to December.
• Peak Summer: It gets hot down here—join us up in Aosta Valley for high-alpine shredding!
• Pro Tip: We ride heavy forest cover and hit elevations over 1,000m. Always pack a stash bag with a windproof jacket and dry spares to leave in the Jeep shuttle.
Planning Your Finale Trip
If you want someone to build your ultimate Finale trip, you’ve landed in the right place. We don’t just run the coolest shuttle in the valley—we hook you up with top-tier rider accommodations, local food spots, and custom guiding.
Where to stay in Finale?
To survive a heavy week of riding, you need a legit bike-friendly basecamp. We only work with rider-approved spots featuring secure bike storage, tool stations, and high-pressure bike wash setups.
Drop us an email with your group’s vibe and we’ll match you up. Want to book directly? Here are our top picks:
• B&B del Cantoniere: deep in the forest, right at the top of the legendary Roller Coaster trail.
• Erasmo B&B: Want to be closer to the beach waves and the vibe? Book Erasmo. Owned by the crew at Oddone Bike Shop, you can get your suspension serviced and grab a cold craft beer at their bar right downstairs.
We also partner with a fleet of hotels and apartments around Finale—tell us what you need and we’ll set it up!
Where to Eat in Finale
After a brutal day of shuttle laps, you need proper fuel. Our MTB guides always know where the freshest local spots are, but these are our all-time favorite feed zones:
• Osteria del Cantoniere: Insane local food up in the woods. Everything is handmade from scratch by our chef, Maurizio. It’s cozy, rustic, and right by the top of Roller Coaster. Whatever you do, save room for the Panna Cotta.
• Grotesque: An absolute must-visit spot a couple hundred meters from the main square. It gets slammed, so book well ahead! Ask for Simo (the owner) and let him serve you his off-menu digestifs.
• Sotto il Santo: Hands down the best homemade pasta in the region, right in the heart of Finalborgo’s medieval square. It’s small, with a massive outdoor patio. Pasta here is a religion—do not skip it.
Where to hit Aperitivo?
After shredding our backcountry lines, there’s only one rule: cold drinks! You earned that post-ride beer. Finale’s aprés-bike culture is world-famous. Here’s where we hang out:
• Bar Caviglia: Situated right in the main piazza of Finale. Prime spot for soaking up the sun with a cold craft beer or Aperol Spritz.
• Oddone Bike Caffé: The ultimate hybrid space—half bike shop, half craft bar. Get your shifting dialed or buy new rubber while sipping on Andrea’s top-shelf beer selection.
• Bar Porta Testa: Iconic outdoor spot at the gates of Finalborgo, perfect for clinking glasses and re-living the day’s crashes and close calls.
Where to get the best Gelato in Finale?
Smashing technical trails in the Finale Outdoor Region burns serious calories—we refill the tank with heavy doses of authentic Gelato!
• Bar Centrale (Finalborgo): The main hub in the medieval village. You might have to stand in line, but the gelato is pure gold.
• Pastorino Gelateria (Calice Ligure): Tucked away inland, serving next-level artisanal ice cream.
• La Gelateria Yogurt (Varigotti): Located 5 km down the coast, right where the legendary EWS DH Men stage hits the Mediterranean Sea.
Nightlife in Finale
If you still have legs after riding, aperitivo, dinner, and gelato, head to the main square in Finale for live music and late drinks.
• Top Local Bars (Open Year-Round): Caffè Caviglia (our go-to), San Pedro, Van Gogh.
• Nightclubs & Beach Parties:
• Sirio Beach & Restaurant (Spotorno): Epic beach party vibe on Thursday nights during summer.
• Essaouira (Albenga): Massive open-air club by the sea.
• Le Vele (Alassio): High-energy venue with top international Techno/House DJs.
Are Kids Welcome?
100%! Our certified guides love coaching young shredders, helping them build confidence, dial in their technique, and ride safer on technical terrain.
Just give us a heads-up in advance if you’re bringing young riders so we can tailor the trails and pace for a killer family day on the mountain!
